Kalkan Town
"There's something so magical about Kalkan. Our family don't usually go back to the same place as we like to explore different cities/countries, but we plan on returning every year!"

We hear people speak something along these lines when speaking about Kalkan. There's something special about this town. The centre of Kalkan is vibrant, quaint and welcoming and has plenty to offer.

Nestled in the foot of the Taurus Mountains and located on the Lycian Coast, this beautiful fishing village is the perfect destination for individuals, couples or families to explore. The local people are incredibly friendly and hospitable.

In the centre of the town, Kalkan's narrow, cobbled streets lead down to the harbour and the stone paths run in-between old style, traditional white houses. Many of these what were once homes are now independent shops, restaurants or tourism agencies.

Kalkan was known as Kalamaki in ancient history, and was founded around 200 years ago. Greek traders from the island of Meis discovered the bay (which was and still is brilliant for keeping ships safe in unsteady conditions), and over time the village gathered more residents and grew into the Kalkan that so many people know and love today.
