The Lycian region of Turkey has so much history to explore!​

Patara National Park - a must see if you're into your ruins and ancient history! Patara Beach stretches 12 kilometres and is home to lots of turtles. It is a great day out for relaxing on the beach or trekking.

Kekova-Simena - a small Turkish island which is a fantastic day out. At Kekova you'll come across the underwater ruins of Dolchiste, an ancient Lycian settlement.


Xanthos - another great one for history lovers. In ancient times Xanthos was the residence of the King Iobates. It was one of the most powerful cities of the time and the capital of the Lycian Union.

Saklıkent Gorge & National Park - The national park is a canyon, and is located in Mugla Province, 50 kilometres far from Fethiye. The Canyon is 65 kilometres from Kas in the Antalya province. The canyon is 300 meters deep and 18 kilometres long, being one of the deepest in the world. Great fun if you're adventurous and like rafting in freezing water.

Tlos - an ancient ruined Lycian hilltop citadel. Tlos is believed to be one of the most important religious Lycian sites and settlement on the site is said to have begun more than 4,000 years ago.
